Because I am young,
I am learning to live.
Day by day, faced with obstacles,
Both seen and unseen.
Because I am young,
I am learning to breathe.
Day by day, faced with hope,
That tomorrow will bring joy.
Because I am young,
I can be lazy,
I believe that I have time,
But time is a servant to no one.
Because I am young,
I can be anxious.
Anxious of the unknown.
Because I am young,
I stay enthusiastic,
What will today teach?
I stay expectant,
What will today bring?
Because I am young,
I dream.
Dream for a brighter future,
Dream for a peaceful tomorrow,
Dream for a stress-free life,
Dream to walk with God more.
Because I am young,
My mind is yet to be fully shaped.
Sieving off the unnecessary,
And retaining the necessary.
Because I am young,
I am learning, un-learning and re-learning.
Learning to succeed,
Learning to be free,
Learning to have fun,
Learning to travel,
Learning to make friends,
Learning to grow spiritually,
Because I am young, I am learning to live.
